WHO ARE WE?
Vivianarchy: I’m a 29 year old graduate with my degree in Advertising from the school of Journalism at UNT. I’m half Cuban & the rest is hispanic mutt that consists of Nicaraguan, Costa Rican & Honduran. I was born in California, but bred mostly in Dallas with short stints in San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Barbara & Chicago. In my free time I like to spend time with people, scour Pinterest for DIY projects and eat good food but I get paid to be a Client Services Manager for a global digital ad serving company. Internet pop-up ads are totally my fault.
Cafesita Poéta: aka my wife Mariel. She’s a 22 year old graduate from UNT with a degree in Sociology. She’s 100% Mexican who was born & raised in south Texas. In her free time she’s a poet but she gets paid to be a Bilingual Intake Specialist for the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services. She likes to cook, read tons of books and have intellectual conversations. She’s a big nerd.
HOW DID WE MEET?
In 2009, we met at the college campus GLAD (gays & lesbians against defamation) meeting. We sat near one another during the meeting so when the leader asked everyone to sit closer together, I moved to sit by Mariel & her friend. We said “hi” & chatted a bit. It was casual, but over the next few weeks I kept running into her at different places on campus. Finally, I told her we should have each others number & hang out sometime. We became fast friends.
Over the next year or so we would meet for lunch at school & talk: her about her relationship & me about my crazy single dating life. I thought she was the most mature & intellectual person I’d ever met.
Long story short, in 2011 she invited me to stay with her at her family’s home & go to South Padre Island for Spring Break and the rest is history.
Now we’re two married ladies in love with life and our little family of 2.
